Privacy policy

Last updated [effective date]

Draft for attorney review. Not yet in effect.

This policy explains what information Tack collects, how we use it and the choices you have. Tack is operated by [Legal entity name] in Texas.

What we collect

  • Account information: names, email addresses, company name, roles and login details.
  • Job data you enter: schedules, budgets, costs, tasks, daily logs, voice and text updates, subcontractor contact details, documents and photos.
  • Photo details: the date a photo was taken. We remove GPS location from photos when they are uploaded.
  • Job location: the address you enter for a job, which we convert to an approximate location to show weather.
  • Usage and device information: pages visited, errors, browser type and IP address, used to run and secure the Service.
  • Billing information: handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.

How we use it

To provide the Service: calculating schedules, tracking budgets, sending emails and subcontractor texts you request, running Watchdog checks and AI features, keeping accounts secure, fixing problems and supporting you. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your job data for advertising.

AI processing

Tack’s AI features send the relevant job data, documents, photos and messages to Anthropic, our AI provider, to generate answers, suggested changes, flags, document readings and photo tags. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf under its commercial terms, which do not permit using customer data to train its models. AI usage is logged in your account so owners can see it.

Who we share it with

Only service providers that help us run Tack, under contracts that limit their use of your data:

  • Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in
  • Vercel: hosting
  • Anthropic: AI features
  • Resend: account and notification email
  • Sentry: error monitoring, with personal details removed
  • Twilio: subcontractor text messages, when enabled
  • Open-Meteo and OpenStreetMap: weather and address lookup, using job location only
  • [Payment processor]: billing

We may also disclose information when required by law, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

Who can see your data inside Tack

Your company’s data is visible only to people your company invites, according to the roles you assign. Field users cannot see budget or cost information. Tack staff access account data only to provide support or keep the Service secure.

Security and retention

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, files are stored privately and served through short-lived links, and each company’s data is separated at the database level. We keep your data while your account is active. After you cancel, we delete it within [30] days, and remove it from backups within [the backup retention period], except where the law requires us to keep certain records.

Your choices

You can view and update your profile at any time. Account owners can export or delete their company’s data, and anyone can ask us to access, correct or delete their personal information by emailing [privacy email]. Subcontractors can reply STOP to any Tack text to stop receiving them.

Children

Tack is a business service and is not intended for anyone under 18.
